Lawrence Okolie launched Black History Month, and Year 6 students volunteered at Brixton Soup Kitchen.
To launch Black History Month, we had the privilege of Lawrence Okolie from Hackney, the world champion cruiser weight champion visit the school to do a whole school assembly. He then did a workshop with Y4 where they did some drills and pad work with him.
Also as part of Black History Month, a group of year 6 children went Brixton Soup Kitchen over a few weeks. They learned about the history of the organisation, additionally, they brought donations from the school and helped to re-organise the food bank. Some of the children also helped out in the kitchen.
